A dashboard is where you look. A report is what you hand over: to a client at the end of the month, to finance for billing, to a review where somebody asks how the quarter went. It needs a period, a fixed set of columns and a file you can attach.
Seven reports
- Timesheet: logged time by person, task and day, with billable hours marked.
- Delivery: what was finished in the period, and whether it finished on time.
- Flow and cycle time: how long work took from start to done, measured from recorded status changes.
- Estimate accuracy: estimates against the time actually logged.
- Workload: open work by person, as of now.
- Roadmap status: every initiative with its progress and health.
- Client service: requests that came in through the feedback widget, and how they were handled.
The columns are the report
Pick the columns you want and the table changes. Export it and the file has exactly those columns, in that order. There is no second “export settings” screen to keep in step with the first.
Compared with last time
Turn on the comparison and every figure shows its change from the previous period of the same length. Thirty days are compared with the thirty before them, so a short month never looks like a slow one.
Totals you can trust
The table shows the first rows; the totals at the top cover the whole period. Exports use the same filter, so the file’s numbers add up to the ones on screen.
Save it, send it
Save a view with its columns and period, and open it again next month. Or schedule it, and the report arrives by email on the day and time you pick.
