Most requests arrive as a message. Somebody posts in a channel, somebody else says they will look, and the request now lives in two places with no link between them. Planner.day puts a task one command away from the conversation it started in.
/planner
Type /planner and a title in any channel. The task is created in Planner.day and the reply in
Slack links to it, so the channel can see that somebody picked it up.
Message to task
Some messages are already the task. Open the message’s More actions menu and choose to create a Planner.day task from it. The text becomes the task and nobody retypes it.
Workflow alerts in Slack
A workflow rule can post to Slack when something happens: a status changes, a task is assigned, a request comes in through the feedback widget. Send it to a person as a direct message, or to a channel the whole team reads. Each alert carries a link to the task.
Your name on your actions
Each person connects their own Slack account. When you create a task from Slack it is yours in Planner.day, not a shared bot’s, and the activity history says so.
